The new normative passed by the FECyT and ANECA for the assessment of Sexenios (normative that soon will be also adopted for assessing the figures of PPL, TU and CU) includes a qualitative component (in addition to the quantitative one) in relation to researchers' scientific publications. In this regard, metrics provided by PlumX to Psicothema are significant for this qualitative justification of the impact and quality of scientific publications on an individual level. Thus, in the past year, Psicothema obtained the following results:
In 2024, of all the articles submitted for publication in Psicothema, only 6% were accepted for publication after a comprehensive peer and editorial review process, which aims to guarantee the maximum quality in the papers that are published. Therefore, 94% of the submitted proposals were rejected, while 1% are currently in the review process. Below it can be consulted the detailed information regarding the average time for each step of the editorial process.
1. Status of manuscripts received in 2024 1
2. Deadlines associated with the editorial process depending on the status of manuscripts received in 2024
Manuscript status | a Days 1st editorial decision (range) |
b Days 1st review (range) |
c Days final editorial decision (range) |
---|---|---|---|
d Rejected manuscripts without a review process | 5 (0–11) | ---- | ---- |
Rejected manuscripts after review process | 5 (0–7) | 39 (9–87) | 57 (11–140) |
Manuscripts accepted | 5 (0–8) | 55 (10–123) | 114 (54–187) |
Note. a Days 1st editorial decision (range) = Average number of days from the author's submission until the manuscript is rejected or goes into review. b Days 1st review (range) = Average number of days from submission until the author receives the first revision. c Days final editorial decision (range) = Average number of days until final decision (accept/reject). d Psicothema only publishes ~10% of submissions, applying rigorous screening. Many are not sent for review.
